Terms of Service
Last updated 15 September 2026
These terms govern your use of https://boottowers.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What this site is
Boot Towers is a free, educational reference for PS2 homebrew. It explains what the community's software does, what the trade-offs between the options are, and the order the steps happen in. It is informational only.
We host no files, and sell nothing
No software, firmware, BIOS images, game images or other files are stored on or distributed by this site, and nothing here is for sale. Every download link points at the project's own release page or a vendor's own site. What you find there is governed by their terms and licences rather than ours, and we cannot vouch for its content, its safety, or its legality where you live.
Accuracy — please read
Figures, compatibility notes and procedures are assembled from the projects' own documentation, community testing and other public sources, and some are estimates. Read speeds vary by console revision, by device and by firmware version. Projects change: a step that is correct today can be wrong after the next release.
Check the project's own documentation before you act on anything here.
Your responsibility
- Modifying a console can damage it permanently and will generally void any warranty that remains. You do it at your own risk.
- Use only software and game data you are legally entitled to use. Nothing here is an invitation to obtain copyrighted material you do not own.
- You are responsible for complying with the law where you live, which may treat some of the activities described here differently from others.
Acceptable use
You may read and share the guides for personal or internal use. You may not:
- scrape or crawl the site at a rate that burdens it, or circumvent any rate limit or access control;
- republish the guides wholesale as a competing product;
- use the site unlawfully, or attempt to breach, probe or disrupt its security or availability;
- present anything here as official, certified, or endorsed by a console manufacturer or by the homebrew projects themselves.
Intellectual property
The site's design, text, code and the arrangement of its guides belong to Boot Towers. The homebrew projects described here are the work of their own authors and carry their own licences. Console names, model numbers, product names and trade marks belong to their respective owners; their use here is descriptive and implies no affiliation with, or endorsement by, anyone.
If you believe material here infringes your rights, write to [email protected] identifying the material and your rights in it, and we will review it promptly.
Availability
The site is provided free and may change, break or disappear without notice. We do not guarantee uptime and are under no obligation to maintain it.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, for damage to hardware, for lost saves or lost data, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its guides. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to USD 100.
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep all mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence — including, in the EU and UK, statutory rights that these terms cannot override.
Changes and governing law
We may amend these terms; the date above will change, and continued use signals acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site operator is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.
